Take Better Pictures is run by an amateur photographer with over 30 years experience of taking pictures with everything from a cheap film camera to the latest professional digital cameras. My experience of digital cameras covers compact, point and shoot cameras, advanced compact cameras and entry level, "prosumer" and professional DSLR's. I have a passion for photography and enjoy communicating some of the techniques and approaches I have learnt over the years to a new generation of photographers. Most recently I have been on a 2-week photographic expedition to the Antarctic and some of the shots from this can be seen in the galleries. However, I also take many of my pictures in the Surrey Hills near where I live or in the heart of London. I have had a career communicating technical concepts to non-technical professionals, managers and executives. I have now turned these skills into creating and running digital photography courses for aspiring photographers.
Focused on You Our courses are designed with you in mind. We understand the difficulties faced by beginners and also the needs of those wishing to improve their photography. We keep our classes small (no more than 8 people) to ensure that we can give you the attention you need and to enable us to spend time with each of you individually during and after the practical sessions. We choose our venues so that there are interesting shooting locations within the proximity of the course venue.
Our photography courses are NOT designed for professionals / those wanting to become professional photographers. They are aimed at amateur photographers but amateurs who want to take more than just snapshots.
The emphasis is on taking pictures, but to do this you have to become comfortable with the equipment you are using and become its master rather than its slave.
